An exciting new collaborative, concept album between Jonathan and Beck Sian to be released at the end of March. By These Words, Are We Haunted...Vol. 1 is a collection of ghost poems from the last 200 years narrated and sung by Beck Sian and Jonathan with background music and effects by Jonathan. The chilling and literally haunting album By These Words We Are Haunted, (is) a selection of classic ghost poems featuring works by some of the great writers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Thomas Hardy, Charlotte Bronte, Robert Louis Stevenson and others are retold in a mixture of narration, sound and song. Genuinely creepy at times, the album perhaps reaches its chilling heights with Shadow March by Stevenson, blending a childlike voice with the nightmarish sounds of a lost nursery. It’s an unusual album, and difficult to classify – not wholly music, nor fully narration, Beck and Jonathan (whose vocal narrations are a rare and welcome treat) deliver a tapestry of dark wonders, beautifully delivered – Beck occasionally reminding us of her lineage (with Kate Bush), whilst Jonathan shows a natural talent for this style of story-telling. A beautiful album on many levels. Dark velvet for a dark night. - Paul Pearson, Greenmantle Magazine
